Detroit Celebrates the Behind the Shallow Mind Red Carpet Premier
As the Motown movie movement continues, on June 3, 2010 Steve Not Sleep Films will roll out the red carpet at the Emagine Theater Novi for official Detroit premier of Behind the Shallow Mind, a dramatic thriller written and directed by Steve Horn.
What is behind the shallow mind? Nothing but wrong turns and bad decisions.
Behind the Shallow Mind is the gripping tale of Terri, a young woman who decides to forego the use of her education in favor of getting fast money in the streets, and Drake, a street savvy media salesman, who meet in the heat of a bad situation. As luck would have it, her desire to make easy money quickly turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse when group of thugs make plans of their own and the doomed star-struck lovers find themselves in a race for their very lives.
What then ensues is a mind-bending ride that will take you through an unforgettable cast of characters that will leave you hanging on the edge of your seat.
Behind the Shallow Mind stars Iken B. Jackson, Sharmaine Nicholson, Jason Wimberly, Taneisha Lockwood, DaShanta West, Fanar Zora, Sherman Eaton and LaDonna Graham, and is an official selection of the 2010 San Francisco Black and Trinity Film Coalition Film Festivals.
This premier will take place at the Emagine Theater Novi, located at 44425 W. 12 Mile Rd, Novi, MI. The red carpet ceremony will begin at 7:30pm and the film screening will begin at 8pm.

Obie Trice Launches New LabelOn Friday, May 7, 2010, multi-platinum selling artist and former Shady Records recording star Obie Trice will formally announce the launch of his new independent record label “Black Market Entertainment LLC”. In celebration of this momentous occasion, Mr. Trice will host an upscale event at Via Nove, a premier Metro-Detroit restaurant and lounge located in Ferndale, MI on May 7th from 10pm-2am featuring sounds by special guest DJ K Nice.
In the wake of acquiring a distribution deal, Obie is very excited about the launch of his new label and the highly anticipated release of his new album, “Bottoms Up”, which features special guest appearances from his long time friend and mentor Eminem among others. Nickelodeon Writer's Script Review at ABFFThe Nickelodeon Writer's Script Review will host a two day invitation only event that is designed to prepare applicants for submission to the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship. Script Review applicants will be asked to submit a spec script based on any 1/2-hour comedic television series currently in production on primetime network or cable by 5pm on Friday, May 14, 2010.
Spec scripts will be reviewed by Nickelodeon Executives and up to fifteen candidates will be selected to participate in one-on-one script reviews in Miami on Friday & Saturday, June 25th & 26th 2010. Selected candidates will have one-on-one time with Nick Executives, will receive feedback on their scripts during the script review and in addition with then be required to submit to the 2001 Nickelodeon Fellowship program.
